Visit of the US Embassy Delegation to Andijan Machine-Building Institute
A delegation from the US Embassy in Tashkent visited the Andijan Machine-Building Institute in February 12. The main purposes of the visit are: 1. Bring volunteer Alon Schneidman to the institute as part of the U.S. Embassy’s Fulbright program 2. Close acquaintance with the Access project implemented by the US Embassy at the Andijan Machine-Building Institute The delegation includes Joanna Kramb, Cultural Affairs Coordinator at the US Embassy in Tashkent, Feruz Akobirov, Embassy Officer, and Alon Schneidman, Fulbright Program Volunteer. First of all, there was a meeting between the guests and the management of the institute, headed by the rector of the institute. Rector of Andijan Machine-Building Institute Umid Turdialiev, Vice-Rector for Information Technology Javlonbek Rakhmatillaev, International Relations Advisor Zafar Juraev, Head of Innovative Educational Technologies Muzaffar Kurbanov, Access Project Coordinator Saodat Erkabaeva, Head of International Relations Asrorbek Eraliev took part in the meeting. During the meeting, the sides discussed current projects, as well as issues of further development of cooperation. In particular, talks were held on attracting volunteers from the United States for academic lyceums and technical schools under the auspices of the institute, organizing internships for students of the institute in US companies, attracting investments to establish production laboratories in cooperation with the US Embassy. In addition, the sides exchanged views on the problems and solutions in the organization of the American Corner at the Andijan Machine-Building Institute. Then the delegation visited the Access classrooms in the building of the Faculty of Automotive Engineering of the Andijan Machine-Building Institute in order to get acquainted with the educational process organized under the Access project. During the visit, the students got acquainted with the young people and talked to them, directly participating in the teaching process of the project. There was also a closed-door meeting between the delegation and project teachers led by Access Project Coordinator Saodat Erkabaeva. During the meeting, the participants exchanged views on organizational issues during the implementation of the Access project, future plans, as well as achievements and shortcomings. The delegation then left the institute to get acquainted with the accommodation offered for volunteer Alon Schneidman.
